Equinox Fitness Integrates Specialized Women’s Coaching Certifications

Equinox Fitness has partnered with Girls Gone Strong (GGS) to integrate two specialized coaching certifications – the Women’s Coaching Specialist Certification (GGS-1) and the Menopause Coaching Specialist Certification (CSMC) – into its continuing education platform, EFTI (Equinox Fitness Training Institute). This collaboration aims to equip more fitness professionals with the knowledge and skills to effectively support women through all life stages.

Strategic Expansion of Continuing Education

Equinox’s decision to approve GGS as an external education provider follows a thorough evaluation of the GGS platform, which was praised for its intuitive design, professional quality, and seamless integration with existing coaching frameworks. This expansion isn’t just about adding another certification; it’s about filling a critical gap in the fitness industry’s ability to serve half the population effectively.

Why this matters: Many fitness programs lack specialized training for women’s unique physiological needs during pregnancy, postpartum recovery, perimenopause, and beyond. This often leads to generic coaching approaches that fail to address the complex hormonal, metabolic, and lifestyle shifts women experience.

Internal Leadership Training

To ensure a strong internal understanding of the new curriculum, Equinox has enrolled four members of its education leadership team in the GGS certifications. Two leaders are pursuing the GGS-1 certification, while the other two are enrolled in the CSMC program.

This proactive step ensures that those shaping Equinox’s continuing education strategy are fully versed in GGS’s methodology, fostering confident support and wider adoption within the organization.

Industry Impact and Future Expansion

The partnership will be promoted through Equinox’s EFTI newsletter and spotlight opportunities, increasing visibility for GGS’s certifications among a broader coaching network. This initiative represents a significant step toward raising industry standards for women-centered fitness coaching.

The goal: Empower more trainers to deliver effective, evidence-based coaching that supports women’s health and performance at every stage of life.

“Women deserve to work with coaches who understand their unique physiology, life transitions, and lived experiences,” stated Girls Gone Strong. This partnership underscores Equinox’s commitment to elevating education and advancing industry standards for women’s fitness.
